Irene Susan Parent

Irene Susan Parent, 97, passed away on February 17th, 2026, at the home of her daughter, Dorothy Cliche, and son-in-law, Robert Cliche. Dorothy and her other daughter, Susan, were at
her bedside.
 
Irene was born in Las Animas, Colorado, in the prairie home of her grandmother, "Little Grammy"  on  December 20th, 1928. Her father was Thomas Needham, and her mother was Lova (nee Clay). They moved to Pueblo, Colorado, where she was raised. She worked in restaurants from the age of 12 to 19. While working at the Bluebird Cafe, she met her to be husband, Ozer W. Parent. They married in Las Alamos, New Mexico. She left her family and moved to Lisbon, NH, to be near his extensive family. 
 
Irene worked in the shoe shop in Lisbon, NH, as a stitcher until she was 62 years old. She was a member of the Grange and the Methodist Church in Lisbon. After retiring, she made Christmas
ornaments for her family and ornaments for the wreaths at the church. She was very creative, she did a lot of painting and jewelry making and made very nice quilts for family members.
 
She is survived by her sister Irma Jean Baum of Olla, Louisiana, two daughters, Susan Irene Scott of Groton, VT, and Dorothy June Cliche and her husband Robert Cliche of North Haverhill, NH. She had many grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren. Grandchildren are Anthony Hoyt of Easton, NH, Angela Brooks of East Corinth, VT, Amy Aurelio and her husband Clint Aurelio, and Joline Lakin, both from North Haverhill, NH, and Lance Parent and his partner Nichole Haung from Spanish Fort, Alabama. Her great-grandchildren are Wesley Aurelio, Gavin and Dustin Lakin, Mossey Brooks, Lucas Hoyt, Phoebe, and Cali Parent. She had many great-great-grandchildren, some of whom are Jacob O'Donald, Kala Booker, Dillan Parent,
and Tiffany Parent. She also has many nieces and nephews.
 
Irene was predeceased by her father, Thomas Needham, mother, Lova Schwarts, brothers, Byron Needham and Floyd Needham; her son, Thomas Parent, grandchildren, Lisa Parent and Tina
Parent; her stepchildren, Theresa Harpin and Robert Hatley; and many in-laws. 
 
Irene's service will be Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church, Central St., Woodsville, on February 21st, 2026, at 11 AM. Burial will be in the spring on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 1 PM at Grove Hill Cemetery in Lisbon, NH.
